Book cover for A Bridge

A Bridge, The Poetic Primer on African and African American Experiences is an inspired collection of poetic essays. These essays cross the Middle Passage of the Atlantic Ocean on a metaphorical DNA bridge which connects Africa with her descendants. For those descendants forced to North and South America during the European slave trade and colonization, for those who are alive, centuries-removed from it, and for those yet-conceived, there is A Bridge.

Summary

The use of the n-word is unequivocally addressed in "That Word" by the Council of Elders in the spirit realm.

"That Word" is an inspired work of poetry. The Council of Elders in the Circle of Truth transports us through an otherworldly experience of the past, the present, and the future. From the opening to the closing meeting, the Council of Elders sees and speaks through a silence most profound. Those with ears are able to hear the transcended wisdom of the Elders. Their wisdom comes from an unmatched level of clarity about the Ancestors Lament, the Descendants Descent, the Oppressors Content, the Ancestors Intent, and the Descendants Ascent. Quite simply, the Elders know.

The Elders know the pain of wounds nearly four centuries old. They know the promise of healing, and they know the power of remembering. Above all, the Council of Elders knows love. It is the Elders’ love, centuries old and without end, that proclaims— that word is not your name. That word is profane.

“That Word” Testimonials

“CeLillianne Green’s That Word is an informative and inspirational masterpiece and a must read for anybody grappling with the true nature and ugliness of the N-word. This outstanding book has inspired the FPA to stand strong as to why That Word should be eliminated from the NFL playing fields.”

John Wooten, Chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance Foundation (http://fritzpollard.org)
